Local Residents Host Meet and Greet with School Board Candidate Matt Bragman in Old Town Seal Beach

Seal Beach, CA – On Wednesday, September 11th, longtime Seal Beach residents Diane and Claudio Materazzi hosted a community Meet and Greet for Matt Bragman, candidate for the Los Alamitos Unified School District (LAUSD) Board of Trustees, Trustee Area 5. The event took place in Old Town Seal Beach and attracted a diverse group of local parents, educators, and community members interested in learning more about Matt's campaign and vision for the district.

Matt Bragman, a dedicated lifelong educator with experience as a public-school principal, teacher, and non-profit leader supporting K-12 schools across the nation, is running for the non-partisan position on the Los Alamitos Unified School Board. In addition to his extensive professional background, Matt is also a parent of a student in the district, giving him a personal connection to the community he seeks to represent.

During the event, Matt shared his commitment to ensuring that the students, parents, staff, and broader community of the Los Alamitos Unified School District are well-represented and supported. He emphasized his top priorities, which include ensuring acadmic achievement and preparing students for college and careers, promoting student wellness, ensuring school safety, and making budget decisions that are both smart and centered around student needs. Matt spoke about the importance of continuing to support successful academic programs, aligning the curriculum with state standards, expanding career and technical education (CTE) opportunities, and providing more access to STEM and arts programs for K-5 students.

A key theme of the gathering was Matt’s promise to serve the entire district. While running for the Trustee Area 5 seat, Matt highlighted that, if elected, his decisions would impact and benefit all families and stakeholders in Los Alamitos Unified. The attendees were engaged in thoughtful discussions and had the opportunity to ask questions about pressing issues such as mental health resources, social-emotional learning (SEL) programs, and fiscal responsibility.
