Meet Matt

I am the dad of a McGaugh Sea Lion, an educator, and a non-profit professional. I am excited to be running to represent Area 5 of the Los Alamitos Unified School District. I look forward to having the opportunity to represent students, parents, staff, and the Los Alamitos Unified School District.

From a young age, I learned that the cornerstone of success in life is a high-quality education. This early realization ignited my passion for teaching, leading me to become an educator, administrator, and now a non-profit leader dedicated to advancing education. I firmly believe that the future of our society hinges on the strength of our educational systems, which is why I am committed to ensuring that every student, including my own daughter, receives the tools and opportunities necessary for success.

The Los Alamitos Unified School District has a proud history of achievement, and I am dedicated to building on these accomplishments. As a leader, I will strive for excellence in every aspect of our schools, challenging them to not only be great but to be the best in Orange County, Southern California, and beyond. I envision our district as a model of educational excellence, and I will work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and the community to elevate our academics, athletics, arts, technology, and career and technical education programs to new heights.

If elected, I pledge to always prioritize the best interests of our students, ensuring that they are provided with the support and resources they need to thrive.
